Lecture outline | To practice specific healthy life assistance activities with professionals on Miyako Island, at home and abroad; to learn about problems with healthy life assistance activities and the possible solutions to them. | ||||||
Objectives | 1.To be able to assess health problems with residents on islands and clarify their problems. 2.To be able to plan assistance activities for spec 3.ified problems. 4.To be able to practice assistance activities in collaboration with multi-professions based on 丂the formulated plan. 5.To be able to evaluate the practiced assistance activities and utilize the evaluation for the 丂future project. |

Before the lectures | Orientation To draw up a 6-week practice plan. 6 weeks include 1-week overseas practice. The practice plan contains the objectives, contents, schedule, venues, and logs. To arrange the schedule with practice institutions after drawing up the practice plan. Practices are developed under the directions of an instructor at each practice institution (head nurse or director of the public health office) and academic advisers in charge. |

Evaluation method | Students are evaluated, given their good attendance and attitudes in practices, according to the contents of their practice reports (60%) and presentation at conferences or review sessions (40%) | ||||||
Remarks | 丒As for the practice schedule, arrangements should be completed by May. 丒Students should make brief daily reports to their teachers in charge by e-mail or phone during the practice period. 丒On the last day of each practice period, students give a conference on the practice activities and their achieved results to the instructor of the institution and academic adviser. |
